Read Luke 9:28-36

To transfigure, means to change visibly, how is that word unique to us as Christians based on the reading?

                1.    How would you feel if someone you knew very well transformed right in front of your eyes?

                2.    Can you relate to what the disciples experienced? Why or Why not?

                3.    This particular gospel account of the life of Jesus always closes off the Epiphany season and opens the Lenten. Can you make an educated guess as to why that would be?

                4.    If the Transfiguration is the first and most direct revelation of Jesus as both God and man, why is it important for us to have an understanding of this event in the context of the crucifixion and Resurrection?

                5.    How can we as Christians participate in this event if we are to reflect Christ in our lives?

WELLNESS WITH TLC

5 Common Causes of Headache

·                     Stress - Feeling frayed and frazzled is a frequent cause of "tension" headaches and may trigger migraines. Take 30 minutes a day just to daydream, meditate, or otherwise relax.

·                     Diet - Substances in food can trigger headaches. Examples include caffeine, processed meats, citrus fruits, chocolate, snow peas, and anything containing MSG (monosodium glutamate).

·                     Eyestrain - Take occasional "eye breaks" from the computer screen. Concentrating on one object for a long time can cause temporary head pain.

·                     Sitting - Sitting for long periods, especially if you're constantly on the phone or hunched over a computer, can tighten muscles and lead to tension headaches.

·                     Sleep - Top little or too much. Go to bed and get up at the same time, each day

ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR OUTREACH

Trinity would like to adopt another opportunity for outreach and to expand our prayers for others.  When you give Pastor Keith or Melinda a prayer request, please include an address for the person or persons for whom we will be praying.  Bonnie Rose will provide follow-up with a short note to inform those on our prayer list that our congregation has lifted them in prayer during our worship service.  The response to these notes has been very positive in the past.  It reassures folks that they are in the thoughts and prayers of many people some of whom they may not even know.  Please help us get this expanded ministry in action by providing addresses for those we lift in prayer.  Thank you.

MESSAGE FROM THE

PRESIDENT

I am back for my third round as your congregational president and I want to thank everyone for the confidence you have shown in me.  With God's help I will do my very best to serve you and Him.  I am confident that the strong leadership group we have assembled in our church council will help me and will serve you and our Lord too.  To me it is just the right blend of strong experienced people with some new fresh and energetic folks.

As we begin this new term together,  I see three very important areas that I will be emphasizing and keeping at the forefront of our efforts.  First, I want to establish guidelines for the disbursement of scholarship funds from the Hagebush Memorial Scholarship.  We have had a committee in place for this for years --- we have just never met.  We will this year.

Second, I want to introduce prayer to the congregation ---- something that really needs no introduction to any church member ----- it just needs to be used more.  We need to pray for our Pastor and his family and his work.  We need to pray for our building project which continues to challenge our efforts to reach resolution.  We need to pray for one another for support and fellowship.  We should pray for guidance from God.  And I hope we can conduct prayer vigils at church at various times and in various church seasons, to lift up special requests, or just to glorify the God who chose to save us.  It is a most powerful tool.

And third, I urge all members to get actively involved in Bible Study.  There are already several times and options and several varieties of topics offered, but additional topics, times, and locations can and should be set-up.  I recall very fondly some years ago where members hosted Bible studies for small groups in their homes.  That is just one idea that might be tried again.  I also appeal to members to help with our Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, areas so dear to my heart.  We need your help.

May God continue to bless us all in our lives and in our ministry!
